The hitch arrived with typical Amazon expediency and was exactly as advertised. I was impressed with the fit and finish.
Installation was just as described in the instructions (follow them exactly!) Since the attachment points are inside the vehicle frame rails, the fit has to be very precise and it takes a bit of finesse to position it correctly, especially if you're doing it solo as I was (having another person to help would be nice), but I encountered no major difficulty. A rubber mallet is handy for tweaking the position to line up the bolt holes.
The hardest part was removing the bumper bolts as the factory had them really torqued down. I didn't have an impact wrench available and it was about all I could do to loosen them with a 25" breaker bar.

I read all of the reviews on this product before I purchased. I couldn't tell if some of the installers who were having difficulty were doing so due to a lack of knowledge, improper tools, or just a bit of bad luck. My father owned a full-service gas station all of my life, and I am fairly knowledgeable when it comes to automotive repair and accessory installation. I decided to order.
I read each of the 19 posted reviews to get a better idea of the possible problems that I might encounter. Then, I read the instructions thoroughly and I followed them exactly. Still, this bulky and heavy item would not fit and I just couldn't force it by myself. I was not going to remove the entire bumper and slide the hitch into place as one guy suggested. And as another guy stated, removing the screws for the rear-most exhaust hanger did absolutely nothing as the exhaust pipe dropped less than � inch. For me, the trick was to remove the second rear-most exhaust hanger, which is directly on the backside of the muffler. By removing both exhaust hangers, I finally had enough clearance to insert the hitch into place and temporarily secure it with two bolts. Furthermore, it still required some "gentle" persuasion to move the hitch around to get the last two bolt holes to line up correctly. This installation was not quite as easy as I was hoping.
The hitch looks great, and it is definitely a quality manufactured item. Amazon had the lowest price that I could find anywhere, and the shipping was FREE. As an extra benefit, it is made in the USA! I do recommend this product because the quality is first class. However, I will warn you to be prepared for possible set-backs during the installation if you do it yourself.

I only have three complaints but other than that it would have been a perfect buy.
1) its came witha small pinky nail sized chip in paint.
2) It comes with 6 screws and 4 of them too short= doesnt work, i had to use the original from the frame.
3) it doesnt fit my 2010 nissan xterra frame. its too wide. I had to pound it on the ground for a slight bend in the mounting ends of the hitch and now it fits.
if the screws fit i would be happy.
if there was not chip in the paint i would be happy.
it fits i am happy and it looks great im happy.. but it would have had a 5 star is there was not chip in the paint and the screws fit.. i dont mind the hammering to make it fit snug...
I dont want to go through the hassel of sending it back and waiting for a another ans spending another 3 house getting it to fit properly.
